Team Management

How to build, manage and continually develop a soccer team.

In this section we'll be focusing on the key priorities of team development.  That means your role as soccer coach and manager.  But aren't the two the same?  Well for a start when your coaching, your key aim is to develop the individuals and build a highly performing soccer team in the shortest time possible!

However, when you are wearing your managers hat, your role is a little different.  You must harness all of the resources that you have at your disposal and use them to maximum effect.  You must motivate, encourange, discipline, but above all see the wider picture than just coaching the team.  Key decisions both on and off the field will rest on your shoulders and its your role to make sure that the right things happen most of the time.

In this section you will find thought provoking information on the following topics:

  • Recruitment of Players
  • Physical and Mental Preparation
  • Building Team Spirit
  • Team Talks
  • Handling Problem Players (& Parents)
  • Fitness for Soccer
