Every Coach Needs a Good Practice Plan

Most coaches know that a well thought out structured training plan is absolutely essential for a practice session.

A good training session plan should be a foundation from which you will build your teams knowledge, skills and attitude.

However, many training plans are quickly scribbled (on scrap pieces of paper) sessions with a couple of ideas of what to do when the players arrive.

A good training session plan will include a warm up, technical practice, skill development and finish with a small sided game. Cool down also.

Most sessions with you players will only be for 1 hour maximum per week with games at the weekend.

Therefore, its totally vital that you and your team get the most out of the precious time that you with each other.

So start this week and plan your session.

After the session see if any of the players or parents notice whether anything was different.

The more organized you are, the better the information you give your players and more opportunities you give your players to practice newly acquired skills the better the chances are of your team being successful.
