Was your last coaching session a success?

Here are seven killer questions that you should always ask yourself to assess whether your coaching session has been a success

  1. Did your players have fun during the session?
  2. Were there plenty of opportunities for them to practice the techniques and skill which were the basis of the session?
  3. Did the session allow them to practice in a realistic way?
  4. Were your players given a chance to relate the technique and skill learnt into a game situation?
  5. Did your players understand when, where, why, how and what they were doing and would it improve their decision making on the pitch?
  6. Were they more competent and was their confidence higher at the end of the session?
  7. Did the session achieve all its intended goals?

If you assess each of your sessions with these questions you will have a solid base on which to base future training sessions and keep your players happy and wanting to come back week after week.
