Coaching soccer indoors
Depending on the country youre in, and the weather conditions, at some point during the calendar year or the soccer season it will be necessary to conduct your training sessions indoors. While it is always preferable to train outdoors sometimes the only option that you have is to take the players indoors. There are some additional tests on your coaching ability when you take your players indoors. For a start there is a lot less space; that means you will have to be more organised and tailor you sessions around the space that you have, no 50 yard passing drills! Skills practices can be based around heading, ball control, short passing, combination play; drills based on these principles are ideal as they dont require a huge amount of space. With a reasonable amount of floor space you will be able to organise small sided games to improve your players co-ordinated play. Indoor small sided games are an ideal opportunity to work on close control
dribbling, feints and turns, since the ball must be always close to player in
possession and the tighter the area they are working in the better.
